AVG Safe Search 8.0 - Protect Against Bad Websites
So sometimes in our home in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, on our home computer, we get viruses and spyware. It’s not actually my computer buy my roommate’s computer. I always remove the viruses with some handy virus tools, but I need to give him something that notifies him he might be on a bad site on the internet that will give him a virus.
I looked into it slightly and learned that AVG has an addon for Mozilla Firefox that provides real time notification if a website has history of harming it’s users in a bad way. AVG Safe Search is part of AVG Antivirus Free edition. You only need to OK the install and say whether you want to participate in the program that helps them update their database.
I choose to do that so that people in the future can learn from my mistakes and I am learning from theirs. So once that was installed and setup with Firefox 3.0, a green check shows up on Google’s search engine when you search to show that if the website is safe or not. I hate to do computer repair and this little addon makes me have to do less and less. And if you do go to a website that might be harmful to your computer, a page comes up telling you this and asking you are you sure you want to go there, very helpful.
